Attention Fashion Designers!

Carbondale Arts, the organizers behind the annual sustainable fashion show Green is the New Black is putting out a call for designers for their upcoming 2019 show.

Now in its 11th year, the annual #fashionshow will take place in the creative Colorado mountain community of #Carbondale from March 14 - 16, 2019.

Green is the New Black has sold out nine of the last ten years and this show will sell out again at 550 seated tickets plus standing room each night. Local and national #designers and #artists come together to create a dynamic, alluring, and thought-provoking event featuring fashion that sparks the imagination and is created from recycled and/or sustainable materials. These creations, intertwined with dance and multimedia artistry, attract an audience from throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. The theme for the 2019 fashion show is OZ (although designs do not need to be related to the theme).

Why a sustainable fashion show? Fashion and textiles hail as the third most polluting industry in the world and sustainable design is more important than ever. "Green is the New Black has been promoting eco-friendly practices in fashion since 2008 and with your participation we can continue to show the public the creativity and top-notch design available in green clothing," the organizers say.

"Becoming a GITNB designer, provides great exposure without all the stress and cost of producing your own show. You as a designer are simply asked to do what you’re best at--creating great clothes--while we do the heavy lifting in providing models, hair and makeup, music and runway blocking. It’s a win-win way to get your name out there, express yourself creatively and help us produce a sensational event that raises money for community and arts education!"
