Montrose Oktoberfest 2023: A Celebration of Community and Craft Beer

As the golden hues of autumn descend upon Montrose, Colorado, we are less than a week away from the Bavarian-inspired bacchanalia of the traditional German Volksfests that has been a fixture in the community for nearly two decades—Montrose Oktoberfest 2023. This year is the festival's 18th year, and it once again promises to be a gathering of local spirit, exceptional music, and, of course, outstanding craft beverages.

Music lovers are in for a treat with a stellar lineup featuring Elder Grown from Durango and Clay Street Unit hailing from Denver. The traditional Oompah Band by the Valley Symphony Orchestra will also be there to really give amp up the festival’s Bavarian roots. There will also be circus performers, a costume contest, and a stein hoisting competition.

Of course, no Oktoberfest is complete without the finely crafted libations, and Montrose Oktoberfest will bring the best beer from the best brewers in the region to town. VIP Breweries for the event include Pomona Brewing Company and Shelter Distilling who will be offering plenty of tasters of their finest brews. This year's event also boasts a wealth of support from other local favorites like Horsefly, Silver Basin, and Colorado Boy, as well as others from farther afield including Crooked Stave, Rockslide Brewpub, Rambelbine Brewing Company, Palisade Brewing Company, Ska Brewing, and Trail Life Brewing. The Liquor Store and High Country Beverage will also be in attendance.

For those looking to elevate their Oktoberfest experience, VIP tickets

provide an array of perks, including a separate entrance with shorter lines, a shaded tent with comfortable seating, prime stage viewing, and exclusive pourings from the local breweries. To satisfy your hunger, Pinecone Catering will serve up a delectable full-catered lunch at the VIP tent, too.

Beyond the music and libations, Montrose Oktoberfest has a deeper purpose—supporting the community. This festival serves as the biggest annual fundraiser for All Points Transit, a vital organization that provides safe and reliable transportation across the region through public bus routes and private dial-a-ride services. The festival's success is a testament to the incredible support and commitment of the Montrose community to this essential cause.

Montrose Oktoberfest is also a collaborative effort with the Black Canyon Homebrewers Association, a group that has spent two decades fostering strong relationships with the best breweries throughout the Western Slope and the state of Colorado. Their dedication to the craft of brewing has helped make Montrose Oktoberfest a standout event on the Colorado festival calendar.

Montrose Oktoberfest isn’t just a celebration of craft beer and culture from Bavaria but a celebration of community, culture, and charity, so mark your calendars, secure your VIP tickets, and get ready to raise your steins in a toast to Montrose's vibrant spirit at this year's Oktoberfest. Prost!

Montrose Oktoberfest takes place at the magnificent Montrose Rotary Amphitheater at Cerise Park, the festival runs from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, September 30th.
